Panic! At The Disco Covers "Bohemian Rhapsody" on Suicide Squad: The Album

Panic! At The Disco’s cover of Bohemian Rhapsody is out now on Suicide Squad: The Album! This cover has been a longtime favourite among fans, and now it finally has its own studio version, available on iTunes, Spotify, and Google Play.

The cover was featured in the official trailer for the Suicide Squad movie, which also dropped in theatres August 5th. The song premiered on Zane Low’s Beats 1 Show on Apple Music on August 4th.

This is not the first time the band has covered the popular Queen song. It has become a staple cover of theirs, one played both at their own shows and various events including Reading Festival, BBC Radio 1 Big Weekend, and the Alternative Press Music Awards. Frontman Brendon Urie even did an impromptu cover of the song during one of his occasional Periscope broadcasts, and he still managed to hit every note! The official live version of the cover was uploaded onto the band’s YouTube channel almost two years ago.

The decision for Panic! At The Disco to start covering this song was genius. Brendon’s impressive vocal range and piano playing abilities match perfectly with this song. Plus, the structure and vibe of the song is quite similar to some of the band’s own music. A little bizarre and scattered in the best way, coupled with meaningful lyrics.

Many other songs on the Suicide Squad soundtrack have a similarly chilling and twisted vibe, such as Kehlani’s Gangsta, twenty one pilots’ Heathens and Skylar Grey’s Wreak Havoc. It is a well curated soundtrack that features a good mix of artists and adheres to running theme. In fact, many people prefer the soundtrack to the movie itself!

It is not an easy feat to cover such a high profile Queen song, one renowned by some as one of the greatest pop tunes ever. However, Panic! At The Disco pulls it off beautifully every time. Whether it is a live, high energy performance or a studio recording, we’ll have it on repeat every time.
